According to statistics, among about 30,000 species of higher plants in China, there are more than 17,000 species in Yunnan, accounting for 62.9% of the total number of higher plants in China. There are 6,559 species of traditional Chinese medicines in Yunnan. Among them, there are 315 families, 1841 genera and 6157 species of botanical medicines, and 148 families, 266 genera and 372 species of animal medicines. There are 74 species listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, 32 species listed in the ministerial standard, and 149 species listed in the Yunnan Provincial Chinese Medicine Standard. The output (collection) of major animal and plant medicinal materials is nearly 1 billion kilograms. The varieties and quantities are the highest in China, and there are many unique varieties. Yunnan's excellent quality of traditional Chinese medicine resources, so that Yunnan's traditional Chinese medicine in the national market is unique, in the famous "Yun Gui Chuan Guang, Taoist herbs" in the first place.
